Peggy K. Cantrell, 62 of Marion, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky. Peggy was born on December 7, 1947 to the late James and Goldie (Doolittle) Gates here in Marion.
Peggy was married on June 13, 1964 to Billie Cantrell who survives. She was formally employed at Marion General Hospital after which she was co-owner of the Brush Ridge Market. Peggy was most recently employed at whirlpool. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 889 and active in the Ladies of the Moose. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a caring friend to all.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Billie; daughter, Billie Jo (Ed Fridley) Smith; brothers, James (Jenny) Gates, Jerry (Brenda) Gates, Vernor (Ruth) Gates, Randy (Sonia) Gates all of Marion, Harold (Debbie) Gates of Mt. Gilead; sisters, Regina (Donald) Shephard and Shellie Call of Marion; grandchildren, Jacob, Allie, Hannah and Noah Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her son, John J. "Chip" Cantrell on August 31, 1981; stepfather, Gust Jevas, a brother, Frank Gates and a sister, Polly Baughman.
Family will receive friends from 2 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday March 22, 2010 in the funeral home with pastor Ryan Chivington officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
