Jan L. Barnhill, 70, Marion, died unexpectedly at her residence on Monday, March 15, 2010. She was born on May 1, 1939 to the late Howard L. and Bernice (Tennant) Stanley in Delaware, Ohio.
Jan married Dr. John Barnhill in 1963 and he survives. Jan was a retired art teacher for the Marion City Schools receiving her Bachelors Degree from Ohio State and then her Masters Degree from Mt. St. Joseph of Cincinnati. Jan was currently working part time at the Elder Beermen Department Store. She was a member of Forest Lawn Presbyterian Church as well as the Junior Service Guild.
Jan is survived by her husband, Dr. John Barnhill of Marion; daughters, Jill (Chris) Schiefer of Van Buren, and Jodi (David Nadolny) Barnhill of Worthington; grandchildren, Alexander, Ryan, Zachary and Justin Schiefer and Scooter Francis and Andrea Nadolny; siblings Marlene Haught, Gaye Buckingham and James Stanley. Jan was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Charles and Theresa Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors for a memorial visitation. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Dick Mickley officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Marion Concert Band or to the Forest Lawn Presbyterian Church.
